A-SIDE: BALLAD OF A STARVING ARTIST
“This is a song I have had sitting in the back of my mind for a long, long time. Ballad is a foundational song that serves as a mission statement for the rest of the songs we plan to release. Ballad will be track one on side one of our debut LP. There’s a touch of Buddy Holly, The Beach Boys, Phil Spector mixed with the sounds of the Jersey Shore in the composition. I threw the kitchen sink at this tune and put a lot of influences into the blender so to speak. Lyrically inspired by a close friend of mine, I increasingly feel like I am singing about myself.” - P. Dunn
B-SIDE: ROCKING CHAIR
“One of the first songs I ever composed. This is the song we typically start our live show with. I’m fascinated with the use of the Rickenbacker 12 String alongside an aggressive, overdriven guitar sound. This song has been a fan favorite and fits as a counterpoint to Ballad of A Starving Artist. I felt natural to include it in the B-Side.” Bryan Haring of The Gaslight Anthem appears as a special guest Piano/Keys Organ player on this track and many other forthcoming songs.” - P.Dunn

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING
“The Modbeats feel like a band straight out of the iconic 60s Top of the Pops era—jangly guitars, infectious melodies, and the kind of vibrant energy you could imagine watching on a black-and-white screen back in the day. But what makes them stand out is how they’ve transported that classic sound into the mainstream of today. Their music captures the timeless essence of rock ‘n’ roll while resonating with modern audiences, creating an exciting blend of nostalgia and fresh creativity.” - Rich Christina, SVP Head of East Coast A&R at Sony/ATV
